Having your daughter get engaged is of course outrageously exciting. You start having all these grand ideas of the future, you start making plans for the wedding and then you start thinking, how in the world are we going to make all of this happen? Continue reading

Super Fun Eagan Senior Portraits

Outing with Ben

Here we are in September in the middle of senior portrait season. This year is a particularly hot and heavy season partially because we’ve been so active in the community for so many years and many of the kids that we know from the community are graduating this year. Continue reading

Many of you have been asking me questions like, “Is Questions and Answers Blog still alive?” The answer to that question may be just a little bit complicated. The old Questions and Answers blog that you have come to know and love is not going away any time soon but for the time being I have consolidated my efforts at building a new project. World Premiere of LetThereBeLightFineArt.com

Welcome to the World Premiere of LetThereBeLightFineArt.com

The website WayneMoran.com is functional and gets a ton of traffic but I have been getting feedback for years that it does not really display the fine art nature of my photography in a user friendly and it certainly needed a major overhaul. Instead of risking losing all of the current traffic that it gets by deleting all kinds of existing content I decided it was time to launch an entirely new website that complete focuses on my Fine Art Photography. Continue reading

You may recall sometime back we had posted about the Chief Tecumseh poem that we had become aware of from the Act of Valor movie. Well we just recently received a note from an active duty soldier that I had to share with you. Continue reading

Best Senior Portrait Photographer Session ~ Mallory

Many may ask who is the best senior portrait photographer in Eagan or their particular city. My answer is always the same. The person who you can enjoy working with and the person who is able to capture the personality and the essence of the senior being photographed is the best photographer. That is a grandiose way of saying, it depends. Continue reading

Photographic Journey – Rocky Mountain National Park

Let’s be honest, nobody really wants to listen to your stories of what you did for your summer vacation. I am just being honest here. Once in a while you will be able to corner someone and sit them down and get them to look at your pictures. But for the most part that are just being nice. Continue reading

Don’t Brag!!! A story from a proud Papa

You and I have both been told it’s not good to brag. Well I’m going to break that rule today because I have a good reason to brag at least just a little. You see my daughter Nicole Rose Moran is a gifted and talented singer. While it is true her abilities are a natural gift, she has also been working very hard to own her gift and bring it to the level of that now. Continue reading

Google+ is dying! Do you care?

I am willing to bet that many of you, maybe even most of you have heard of Google+. I hope so, they have been advertising like crazy on TV. It might even be that you have an account. But the real question is, is anyone actually using it other than Google employees and photo geeks (I can say that because I am one)? Continue reading

First Attempts at Recording Video on the Canon 5D Mark II

I have been shooting Canon for my still photography work for quite some time now. I may actually be somewhat of an oddity because I am mostly a landscape and architecture photographer and it seems to me many people chose Nikon as their camera of choice if that is what they shoot, but I guess I started with Canon and will probably stay there unless someone gives me a stable of Nikon gear. I must admit I do lust after that 9 image auto bracket when it comes to my HDR work but that is a much different story. Continue reading

Fashion Photographers MN – Diana Giebler Session

Recent Fashion Photo session – Last week the phone rang and I heard a young woman’s voice on the other end. She says hi my name is Diana and you know my father. It turns out I worked with him years ago in a prior life and I remember clearly the warmth and happiness that he brought to my days. He was a constant source for smiles and I remember those days fondly. Continue reading

Graffiti Graveyard Duluth MN

Have you ever heard of the concept Graffiti Graveyard? I did a little Google search to see if this was a common name and if there were places like this throughout the country or even throughout the world but all I have not come up with anything. So this must be something peculiar to the City of Duluth Minnesota. Continue reading

World Encounter – A Tapestry of Tanzania

I do not know about you, but I have always had an interest or maybe even a passion to be involved with two special types of aide organizations. The first one is the type of agency that brings clean water to small desperate communities throughout the world and the second is the type of organization or ministry that provides micro loans to tiny entrepreneurs around the world. Well World Encounter http://worldencounter.org/ is this second type of organization and I was contacted by my great friend Stephanie Gates to see if I would be the photographer for their fundraising event. I said yes in a heartbeat, even before I check my schedule. This whimsical scheduling methodology luckily even worked out for me this time so I was indeed able to go. Continue reading

Canvas Prints

If you have never tried printing huge canvas prints, now just might be the time.

I was contacted by the industries Brendan at Easy Canvas Prints to see if I would do a review on their canvas prints. I immediately agreed because I have never printed any of my images large on canvas and it was high time that I got it done. So I jumped at the chance to create a canvas print.

Easy Canvas Prints (http://www.easycanvasprints.com/) offers high quality, gallery-ready prints at an affordable price. I was a bit overwhelmed with the possibilities that could be created. But not only that, Easy Canvas Prints also offers an extensive idea gallery (http://www.easycanvasprints.com/idea-gallery/) – a wedding picture, a beach picture from our recent trip to North Carolina, a picture of the pups or a nice family photo. The possibilities are endless. I knew I wanted to keep my canvas landscape related or something to do with fine art. I knew just the image, the pier shot for North Carolina!! Most excellent. Continue reading

The Beauty of North Carolina Beaches

The Beauty of North Carolina Beaches

I love the beach, it’s plain and simple. I do not think I have ever seen an ugly one. Ok, one that is polluted or something is less than attractive but even one like that still has that rugged allure to it. So now you know I love the beach. Continue reading

Sr. Portrait Session: Krista from Eastview High School

Some moments in life seem almost perfect. For a sr. portrait photographer that often time means having the opportunity to work with a handsome young man or a charming young lady. Especially when that person really has that spark of live, that enthousiasme pour la vie. Well I had that opportunity recently and Krista is such a person. Continue reading

U2 Minneapolis 2011 – The 360 Tour

U2 Minneapolis 2011 – The 360 Tour

This may have been the concert of a life time.
There is a reason why U2 has experienced such huge success and career longevity in this crazy music industry when many bands can’t sell any albums (ok cds, dvds or mp3s) and most bands cannot fill up a giant venue. That reason is showmanship and respect for the audience. U2 puts on a show that will blow your mind, and probably your ears also (my ears are still ringing). Continue reading

Adventures on the Light Rail – The Sales Guys

Would you agree with me that sometimes sales guys can have a questionable reputation? I do not know, there is just something about some of them that I can not quite put my finger on. Maybe the thing is I sense that I can not really trust some of them. I have many friends and family members that are indeed great people and great sales people so this does not implicate every single sales person but there maybe some generalizing wisdom that might be gleaned from this experience. Maybe hearing some recent conversations among sales men on the train, better known as the light rail, just maybe these conversations will give us some valid reasons for those queasy feelings in out stomach when dealing with some sales people. Continue reading
