Bush Taps Snow As New Press Secretary – Yahoo! News

I love Tony Snow!!!  Great Job Tony, do good work.

Complete Story: Bush Taps Snow As New Press Secretary.

WASHINGTON – President Bush on Wednesday named conservative commentator Tony Snow as White House press secretary, putting a new face on a troubled administration.

Snow, a Fox news pundit and former speechwriter in the White House under Bush’s father, replaced Scott McClellan who resigned after nearly three yeas on the job in a personnel shuffle intended to re-energize the Bush White House and lift the president’s record-low approval ratings.

Gold May Rise 10-Fold

Do you have your Gold yet?

Complete Story: Bloomberg.com: Australia & New Zealand.

Marc Faber Says Gold May Rise 10-Fold If Dow Triples (Update2) April 25 (Bloomberg) — Marc Faber, who told investors to bail out of U.S. stocks a week before the 1987 Black Monday crash and began recommending commodities at the end of 2001, said gold may rise 10-fold in the next 10 years.

“If the Dow Jones goes up three times in the next 10 years, I think gold prices will go up by a minimum 10 times to something like $6,000 an ounce,” said Faber, 60, who founded Hong Kong-based Marc Faber Ltd. and manages about $200 million.

Faber, author of a newsletter called The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, said gold wasn’t expensive when “you compare its price to the quantity of money that has been printed in the last 10 to 15 years in the U.S. and the world in general.”

Gold for immediate delivery rose to $645.85 an ounce on April 20, its highest in the more than 25 years, as hedge funds and other speculators bought commodities to seek greater returns than from stocks and bonds. Former George Soros partner Jim Rogers forecast April 17 that gold would reach $1,000 an ounce.

San Fran Catholic attack results in lawsuit

You know, it is a good thing the left is so open minded and diverse, otherwise one would think that they hate Christians…

A stridently anti-Catholic resolution passed unanimously by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has prompted a federal lawsuit. In the

March 21 measure, the city’s board condemned Catholic moral teaching on homosexuality and urged the archbishop of San Francisco and Catholic Charities of San Francisco to defy church directives prohibiting homosexual adoptions.

I’m really feeling the love here.

Homosexual Rights Group – Early Supporter of VIRTUS in Twin Cities

This letter went out yesterday from primaryeducators.org .

From: webmaster@primaryeducators.org

Dear Parents,

You may have missed this in the previous broadcast message due to its length.  Some additional information is provided.

A question was raised at the meeting that if the clergy sex abuse crisis was due to homosexual priests abusing children, why are we doing VIRTUS?

Remember, the National Review Board and the John Jay report revealed that 81% of the abuse cases involved boys ages 11-17.  However, since many of the priests involved did not self identify themselves as homosexual, many Church officials and overseers will not say we have a homosexual priest problem.  They say the crimes were “homosexual in nature.”  That’s as far as they go.  (If it walks like a duck…talks like a duck…it must be a duck – right?  Not so according to the experts).

As the crisis broke, the Bishops became more aware  of the overall problem of child sex abuse in society. Consequently, they wanted to positively impact society by trying to protect God’s children. The result of which is the "Protecting God’s Children" initiative and "Safe Environments."

VIRTUS is the most prevalent of all the programs across the country.  It is mostly being used as the framework to train the clergy, staff, parents etc. 75% of the Catholics in the U.S. are being instructed via VIRTUS.

So who else supports VIRTUS?

A local homosexual rights group, Catholic Rainbow Parents, was one of the early supporters of our archdiocese implementing VIRTUS.  Read why this group fully supports the effort of VIRTUS in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis:

http://altorfamiliarum002.blogspot.com/2006/04/homosexual-rights-group-early.html

We need your help!  Please encourage your family and friends to join our e-mail list.  We are over 200+ but we have a long way to go.  Many people are forwarding these e-mails around, but it’s going to be critical we have as many on board as possible.   You can always opt out should you so choose.

Thank you for your effort in helping us protect the innocence of our children.

God bless,

Conservative values vs. liberal values

Today we found a must read commentary by Star Parker.  She says…

Conservatives, as I stated above, are clear about this. Traditional values we learn from the Bible. We can simply point to the Ten Commandments. And liberal values? The absolute here is that there are no absolutes. Everything is relative, and the only absolute is to welcome and tolerate everything.

I could not agree more…

Parent’s Group Oversees Cleaning up the Catholic Priest Sex Abuse Scandals

If you are not aware of the "Clean up" of the Catholic Preist Sex abuse scandals, this may all be new to you.  There is a concerned parents organization that is currently head quartered in the suburbs of Minneapolis/St Paul that is very concerned with how things are being cleaned up and the effect that the clean up may have on their children.  This group is starting to make some national waves.

The letter below is a letter that went out to there readers and I believe their concerns are worth taking a look at.

Subject: Primary Educators League Update – Safe Environments

From: webmaster@primaryeducators.org

Dear parents,

Thanks for participating in Thursday evening’s "safe environments" presentation in

Roseville

. 100 parents from 30 parishes attended. That brings the

total to 250 parents from 60 parishes who have attended one of the two meetings held thus far.

Key issues:

1 We’re considering holding another meeting perhaps south of the river for the southern suburbs. Please let us know if can help us organize parents to

attend.

2) Get educated on “safe environments” and discuss with fellow parishioners. Join together before going to speak with your pastor, principal or Dir. of Religious Education. The clock is ticking…

3) Our web site and blog will be updated daily. Check back frequently for the latest at www.primaryeducators.org and http://altorfamiliarum002.blogspot.com/.

4) Encourage others to join our e-mail list. More than 200 people have joined in the last two weeks.

5) FICC Approvals: please let us know if you hear of other parishes receiving approval from Archbishop Flynn to use “Formation in Christian Chastity.”

(FICC)

6) Several articles broke in the press yesterday on Primary Educators and “Safe Environments” http://www.primaryeducators.org/news.php

7) USCCB released its 3rd audit on the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People:  http://www.usccb.org/index.shtml. Total cost to date of the sex abuse scandal for the Church – $1.5 billion.

A question was raised at the meeting that if the clergy sex abuse crisis was due to homosexual priests abusing children, why are we doing VIRTUS?

The National Review Board and the John Jay report revealed that 81% of the abuse cases involved boys ages 11-17.

So who supports VIRTUS? A local homosexual activist group was one of the early supporters of our archdiocese implementing VIRTUS. Don’t miss the latest entry on the blog at:

http://altorfamiliarum002.blogspot.com/2006/04/homosexual-rights-group-early.html

Please continue to pray for Archbishop Flynn, our priests and for the protection of our children.

God bless,

Anti-conversion law passed in ‘tolerant’ Algeria

Another Islamic government has made it illegal to convert to Christianity.

As attention focused on an Afghan Christian convert who faced the death penalty for his conversion, Algeria quietly passed a law that punishes anyone who persuades a Muslim to leave his faith, with up to five years in prison, and banishes house churches.

The government said the law’s purpose is to prohibit "clandestine organizations" it claims are secretly trying to convert Muslims, according to London-based Alarab Online.

Complete Story: Anti-conversion law passed in ‘tolerant’ Algeria.

While the western left is so totally consumed with "diversity" and "open-mindedness," why do we not hear anything from them decrying anti-diversity laws like this being put into place?  The answer is two fold.

  • Because they are not really into true "diversity".  They are into perversion.

  • Because they also are anti-Christian.

‘Satanic’ art in Catholic Church exposed

Now this is interesting stuff from a sector inside the Catholic Church.

Could the Roman Catholic Church’s sex abuse crisis be tied to embedded Satanic and occultic imagery in its artwork – some of it hundreds of years old?

That is the seemingly incredible thesis of a new documentary, "Rape of the Soul," made not by anti-Catholic bigots, but by devout followers of the Church.

This is all concerning a new movie "Rape of the Soul."

The Cost of becoming a Christian in Afghanistan

Of course you don’t hear this in the MSM but this is what happens pretty regularly in the Muslim world.  Abdul Rahman is facing a death sentence for becoming a Christian.  What a heinous crime!

One bystander states…

"Cut off his head!" he told AP while seated outside the Herati Mosque. "We will call on the people to pull him into pieces so there’s nothing left."

Now this is a society worth fighting for!  Not.

Archbishop: stop teaching creationism

Archbishop of Canterbury argues against teaching creationism in schools.  Even schools started by Christians.  This seems a bit odd to me because the actual theory being taught is Intelligent Design, not creationism.  There seems to be significant confusion here.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has stepped into the controversy between religious fundamentalists and scientists by saying that he does not believe that creationism – the Bible-based account of the origins of the world – should be taught in schools.

Giving his first, wide-ranging, interview at Lambeth Palace, the archbishop was emphatic in his criticism of creationism being taught in the classroom, as is happening in two city academies founded by the evangelical Christian businessman Sir Peter Vardy and several other schools.

The debate over creationism or its slightly more sophisticated offshoot, so-called "intelligent design" (ID) which argues that creation is so complex that an intelligent – religious – force must have directed it, has provoked divisions in Britain but nothing like the vehemence or politicisation of the debate in the US. There, under pressure from the religious right, some states are considering giving ID equal prominence to Darwinism, the generally scientifically accepted account of the evolution of species. Most scientists believe that ID is little more than an attempt to smuggle fundamentalist Christianity into science teaching.

Update on Blogs For Terri

Dear Friends,

One year ago we fought together on behalf of Terri Schiavo at BlogsforTerri as a loose coalition of independent bloggers, commenters and readers. Despite our protests, we watched with sadness and alarm as Terri’s food and water were withheld and her life was ended in a cruel exercise of power.

Through it all, the Schindler family’s strength and resolve helped us remember the God given intrinsic dignity of human life and the value of each individual regardless of their capabilities.

March 18, 2006, marks the one-year anniversary of the day Terri’s feeding tube was removed. We hope you will participate with us at BlogsforTerri.com (stop by and leave a comment) and around the Blogosphere as we contemplate the value of human life, pray for the weak and helpless and speak out against their oppressors.

[Bloggers, please join with us over the next 13-days and write about Terri’s life and death, honoring her memory by making the argument for why lives like hers should be protected, respected, and loved ( more here).]

We also hope that you will Take Action by supporting the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation. Terri’s brother, Bobby Schindler, recently wrote to us:

We thank you and your readers for your prayers, compassion and support of our family during what was the most difficult of times. Knowing we were not alone in the battle for Terri made all the difference in the world.

As we move forward to confront the culture of death movement in this nation we hope that you will stay with us. We need you now, more than ever, in the battle to aid and defend the needy and advance a Culture of Life through loving action, education and advocacy .

The Schindler’s have written a new book called "A Life that Matters", which is unlikely to receive the positive review it deserves in the mainstream media. Purchase a copy and one for a friend, spread the word and remember.

Please, visit TerrisFight.org and get involved in the Foundation’s work. Participate in the Will to Live Project and donate generously to the Foundation’s current fundraising efforts. It is your support and involvement that will bring about success in the fight for the disabled and the battle against care rationing, euthanasia and medical killing.

Thank you for speaking out on behalf of the weak and defenseless and changing our nation by promoting a Culture of Life.

Everything Happens For A Reason

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there …  to serve some sort of purpose,  teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but when you lock eyes with them, you know that every moment that you are with them, they will affect your life in some  profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason!
Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.  Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.   Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.  The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from….

In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.  If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart,  forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things.

MAKE EVERYDAY COUNT!
Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen.  Let yourself fall in love, even if it doesn’t seem right because you are too young or too far, just follow your heart.

Surround yourself with those who make you smile, laugh, and make you happy.
Break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.  Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you.

Create your own life then let go and live it!

X-rated ‘children’s’ books outrage students’ parents

What is with our schools and libraries?

Parents across the nation are taking action against both school districts and libraries that feature books, some of them required reading, that include sexual issues and obscenity many believe are inappropriate for school children.

In Overland Park, Kan., parents have organized to protest the inclusion of obscene books on children’s assigned reading lists in the Blue Valley School District. The parents took action after a few of them researched the books kids were being asked to read.

My State Rep takes up life issues

I knew there was a reason why I liked this guy….

With heated debate reflecting a deep social divide over issues of life and death, a Minnesota House committee on Tuesday passed a bill that would require health-care professionals to provide food and water to people incapable of making care decisions for themselves.

Rep. Tim Wilkin, R-Eagan, said he became interested in the legislation after watching the controversy that erupted last year over the Florida case of Terri Schiavo, who died after her feeding tube was removed. Her case sparked nationwide protests, and involved Congress, federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. . Wilkin said he wanted to avoid that kind of "circus."

Surprise, surprise! Saddam had WMDs after all

We have proof that Saddam had WMD’s, he said it in his own words.  Why is the press not saying anything about this?

I don’t know if I have any readers devoted enough to remember what I wrote in my column here on Jan. 7, so I’m not above telling you myself: I predicted we’d be learning that Saddam Hussein’s WMDs were "slipped across the border into Syria."

Now, it’s just a few weeks later, and we have in fact learned that was the case. I’m neither prophet nor genius on this stuff, and if I was catching on long before the first days of January, so were other people. Now we have enough increased evidence and detail to declare mystery solved.

The new mystery is why the politicians and the news media are taking scant notice.

South Dakota bans most abortions

South Dakota has now been placed on the map as a state that is not afraid of a big fight.  The Gov has signed into law legislation that would ban almost all abortions.  These guys know there is going to be a fight and these guys are ready and willing to take the heat.

PIERRE, South Dakota (AP) — Gov. Mike Rounds signed legislation Monday banning nearly all abortions in South Dakota, setting up a court fight aimed at challenging the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. The bill would make it a crime for doctors to perform an abortion unless the procedure was necessary to save the woman’s life. It would make no exception for cases of rape or incest.

Why does Hollywood hate Israel?

The new Israel bashing movie "Paradise Now" is another fine example of Hollywood hating Israel.
