U2 Minneapolis 2011 – The 360 Tour
This may have been the concert of a life time.
There is a reason why U2 has experienced such huge success and career longevity in this crazy music industry when many bands can’t sell any albums (ok cds, dvds or mp3s) and most bands cannot fill up a giant venue. That reason is showmanship and respect for the audience. U2 puts on a show that will blow your mind, and probably your ears also (my ears are still ringing). Continue reading

Every year around the 4th of July I get the question how do you shot images from the great national holiday that look rich and capture part of the experience? It looks so hard it must be next to impossible to do right?
Well with a little bit of knowledge and some basic equipment, and essentials, you can capture these moments using your digital camera allowing you to keep these moments for posterity. Why is Forrest Gump such a powerful movie?
My youngest son and I were going to be home all alone for the evening so we wanted to get some movies to watch. Tom Hanks was on the top of the list and both of us had Forrest Gump on our minds. We had been quoting Forrest who was quoting his ever wise mother saying “Life is like a box of Chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” So we were so happy that the movie store had the movie in stock.
Within 5 minutes of the darn movie beginning I was crying like a baby already and through much of the movie I was moved so deeply that my son would be hearing sniffles from me. Even this morning I woke up thinking of the movie and I was moved to tears again. So that raised the question in my mind what in the world is it about that movie that is so darn powerful? What makes the movie so moving to me and a few million other viewers? So I had an interesting experience this afternoon riding home from work on the lightrail train in Minneapolis. I had left work early enough so that the train was not full of professionals and corporate types, you know like me. There were many lower income people most of whom are great hardworking individuals just trying to eek out a living for themselves and their family.
Adventures on the Light Rail – The Sales Guys
Would you agree with me that sometimes sales guys can have a questionable reputation? I do not know, there is just something about some of them that I can not quite put my finger on. Maybe the thing is I sense that I can not really trust some of them. I have many friends and family members that are indeed great people and great sales people so this does not implicate every single sales person but there maybe some generalizing wisdom that might be gleaned from this experience. Maybe hearing some recent conversations among sales men on the train, better known as the light rail, just maybe these conversations will give us some valid reasons for those queasy feelings in out stomach when dealing with some sales people.
