New Orleans here we come.

Just two more days until we leave on our Hurrican Katrina Relief adventure to New Orleans.  The team currently consists of 9 women and 9 men.  I must say I am a bit surprised how balanced the team is.  We will be leaving at 6:00 am sharp from the parking lot of our church.   All systems are a go!

I woke up this morning with an incredible peace about the trip and the plans and all the stuff that is around here that I will be leaving behind for a period of time.

There are several things that I will miss quite a bit.  Obviously my wife and family.  The comforts of middle America etc.  But there is one unusual thing that I know I am really going to miss.  I am going to miss my flickr community.  I know, call me insane but it is true.  I have build some pretty special relationships out in that cyber world and I will have withdrawals from them.  I am addicted.  Also, I have learned so much about photography from the great people out there.   So, to may flickr community, I will miss you.

New Orleans and Urban Impact here we come.

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.
