Minneapolis Skyline: Morning Springtime

As I walk around Minneapolis I continually see views that interest me and I think of new ways to shoot them. Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis is a place of continual surprise. From all the great lines and curves of the architecture, to the music, food people and action on Thursday’s Farmers Market, then you add on top of that the new Twin’s stadium; the place is often abuzz with life.

Working with off camera lighting: Canon 5D Mark II, Cybersync, and various Nikon and Canon Flashes.

So I received my new (used) nikon sb 24 flash (yes I know I am a canon guy), and the Cybersync transmitter and receivers , the light stands and umbrellas etc so last night I had some time to work with them and try to get the whole package working.
To my surprise, it was easy to get the Nikon firing with my canon 5D Mark II. I even was able to fire the Nikon light with my light meter hoocked up to the radio transmitter.

Rush Creek Golf Course: Morning Shadows

I am shooting a project for the townplanner guys and they wanted me to photography Rush Creek Golf Course for next years calendar. It turns out Rush Creek is the last place I had ever golfed because I gave the sport up in frustration years ago, so there was a certain sense of nestagia that I had to for the place. The course is certainly gorgeous and I ended up with some great sunrise and sunset images from this early spring outing.

I know how complex and overwhelming it can be when you are thinking of buying a camera. There are features and size and price and Mega-pixels and lenses on and on and on. Even I get overwhelmed and I supposedly understand this stuff. Well these guidelines or let’s call it a buyer guide or even rule book will help you buy and keep the right digital camera for you. The digital camera market has grown exponentially these past few years and there is a huge choice of cameras for the consumer. My advice for you, go through this checklist and by the time you are done with it, you should in the end be able to find the right camera for your needs.

Minneapolis Stone Arch Bridge – Wayne Moran Photography

The Stone Arch Bridge is a classic symbol of Minneapolis. It is a view of an era gone by, mixed with the modern. The bridge built buy a great railroad baron, was used to create much of the wealth of the region being the means by which grain could come to market in the breadbasket of the country. This image is one of Wayne’s most popular, being used for book covers, marketing material for local corporations and art on many fine homes.

Jubilee Celebration 2009!

Saturday, September 19 offered plenty of sunshine and thousands of reasons to smile. For God’s glory, Jubilee Celebration 2009 succeeded in blessing approximately 1700 people in need. Also blessed were the over 300 volunteers from 17 churches in the surrounding south metro area. Thank you to everyone who came and everyone who gave of their time, efforts and resources!
