Clamp Down on Chinese bloggers

Have you seen what is going on concerning Chinese bloggers?

Given the attempt by the government to re-introduce the incitement to religious hatred Bill again it is easy to see via this story both

  1. how blogging and the Internet can become tightly controlled and
  2. how that control could come via the route of challenging free speech/to keep various groups from being ‘offended’.

About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.

  1. Jason Dollar says:

As a believer, a free church in a free society, is the most effective way of life. For if we are all free to believe and speak, the gospel will flow outward more smoothly, though we also must deal with much rhetoric from opposing positions. This should not bother the believer, however, who knows the truth. This all means that we have a serious issue. Restriction on blog content is one way of setting up an obstacle for the gospel.

  2. James says:

    Jason,
I hate to disagree but the Gospel seems to get out much better when a people or community are under heavy persecution, like China now or Rome under Nero.
We in the west like to think is moves well in a free society but in a free society people get comfortable and lazy and nothing really gets done except alot of feel good religion.
    James
