Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre (490 ha) urban cultural park in San Diego, California.[3] In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation green belts, gardens and walking paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. There are also many recreational facilities and several gift shops and restaurants. Placed in reserve in 1835, the park’s site is one of the oldest in the United States dedicated to public recreational use. Today, Balboa Park is managed and maintained by the stewardship of the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of San Diego.

Welcome to the World Premiere of LetThereBeLightFineArt.com

The website WayneMoran.com is functional and gets a ton of traffic but I have been getting feedback for years that it does not really display the fine art nature of my photography in a user friendly and it certainly needed a major overhaul. Instead of risking losing all of the current traffic that it gets by deleting all kinds of existing content I decided it was time to launch an entirely new website that complete focuses on my Fine Art Photography.

Let There Be Light Minnesota Fine Art Photography of Wayne Moran

So without further delay I would like to introduce you to the new site. The new website is Let There Be Light Fine Art. You can find it at www.LetThereBeLightFineArt.com. This current website is not going to go away but this new one allows me a platform to showcase the best of the best of my Fine Art Photography.

I have been thinking about doing this work for several months and finally I was able to take a little time away from my normal work schedule and focus on this project. Alas it is finally completed.

This new website is basically the online portfolio of the images that people have responded to most passionately. You can see the site at www.lettherebelightfineart.com

The goals that I wanted to accomplish with this new website were threefold:

Make the design modern, beautiful and wonderfully functional

Make the website fully mobile friendly

To make sure the fine art pieces were displayed in a stunning manor

Website Design Process

I worked with a fine people at OxRun LLC to decide on the right look and feel for the whole website. From there we had to select the right theme that would give us the look and feel we were hoping for. Then I reached out to all my friends in the social space to help me select the best of the best images.
Of course that was a difficult and painstaking process. When an artist has so many emotions wrapped up into his/her work, critical feedback can be very difficult to hear. But this precise feedback is exactly what it takes to come up with a list of the best of the best.
I want to publicly take the time to thank everybody that gave their blood, sweat and tears to this project so I could have the best images. Thank You

Features of the Website

Two ways to view the images. Stroll through the Gallery or Portfolio view

Blog totally focused on Photography

Free Print Giveaway

To celebrate this momentous event I am having a drawing for free print. You can find all of the details here. Free Print Giveaway

So go ahead and give the new site a test drive. I would love to hear your feedback of things you like and things that could be improved.

And of course, enter The Drawing for the Free Print.

First Presbyterian Church Interior South Dakota

WOW, I found an image I had not posted before.

Badlands National Park

So this whole purpose of this trip was…
1. To get away from normal life and to get refreshed a little bit.
2. To hike.
3. To learn some new techniques…
4. And to capture a certain picture that I had in my minds eye.

That certain picture was to be the majestic badlands (The grand canyon of the Midwest) in morning or evening light, you know, sunrise or sunset time frame.
Well it was only the first evening that we were there did we get any light conditions like I was looking for. So while I did not get the perfect shot I was looking for, I did have a great adventure.

Four guys from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul, went to the SD badlands for an early spring adventure. The guys were Dave Parker, Bob Martin, Barry Moore and moi (thank you Atlantys ).

It was 87F this particular afternoon and by the next morning it was 35F and the next day we had snow… ;-D

If you are interested in being able to take pictures like this click here

To see my best work just Go Here.

If you are considering a print Go Here!!

Golden Winter Morning
Lebanon Hills Regional Park, Eagan, Minnesota

There are some days where you know you just have to get out and photograph some of the beauty that God is going to put on display that day. Recently there was such a perfect day. It had snowed lightly the evening before and it was one of the heavy wet snows so the snow was going to be sticking to everything. And the sun was going to be coming out so everything was going to sparkling like little diamonds. I had to make it a priority to get out and capture this moment in time. This was one of the images that I captured on that beautiful morning.

This is at one of my favorite places in the world, Lebanon Hills Regional Park, Eagan Minnesota. I hope this helps you to enjoy the beauty that is around you every day. Have an incredible day.

Red Bull Crashed Ice 2013 St Paul MN

The folks from Red Bull must really love the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul because they have done so many huge events here.

Back in 2008 it was the Red Bull Illume Minneapolis on the Minneapolis Stone Arch Bridge. This was a display of incredible extreme sports photographs submitted by photographers around the world.

In July 2010 it was the FlugTag event on Harriet Island in St Paul where over 100,000 people came out to see a world record be broken for furthest flight on a human powered homemade air craft. This is an image of the world record flight. The flight was 207 ft.

Last year they had the mind blowing crashed ice event and now in 2013 they are doing it again. They are expecting over 100,000 people to brave these frigid conditions just to be part of this spectacular event. The event is situated on part of the Cathedral of St Paul and runs down a steep incline.
