About waynem

As a Minnesota based photographer and artist I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work. My best work comes from images first painted in my mind. I mull over a prospective image for weeks or months, seeing it from different angles and perspectives, then finally deciding what to capture. The result is images that deeply touch people's emotions and powerfully evoke memories and dreams. My images are used commercially by companies and organizations ranging from Financial Services firms, mom and pop Ice Cream shops and The Basilica of St Mary to communicate their shared vision and values. Book and magazine publishers have featured my images on their covers. My photographs also grace and enhance the decor of many fine homes.

I am the type of person who has a few REALLY good friends that I can be real with and rather than lots of semi-close friends. What about you?

funny you should ask. we are building a house as an investment. today was sod day. We were in a bind because my wife and kids needed to go out of town and it was me alone to do the project. I called and emailed all my friends. Some were very willing to help, and it was the same old suspects. It was my real friends, the ones that would go out of their way to help out. Thanks friends. But you know, the only ones that were actually available to help in the end were family members. Now that is really strange. I need to pay closer attention to the quality of family relationships I guess.

Family is first for us. I’d even go to a Deep Purple concert to stay close! But the friend thing rings true…can’t depend on family for everything. Sometimes a good friend is what you need most. I really appreciate my blogger friends since we are talking on a deeper level than most. Most of my local friends are oblivious to my blog life. They don’t have time for another “thing”. You could say I am living a dual existence! Weird.
